Race for Survival 2016 in Cologne
YOUR TEAM - YOUR IMPACT
Teams are the heart and soul of our Race! By starting a team, you can bring family, friends and co-workers together to celebrate a survivor in your life, honor the lives of lost loved ones or simply support a great cause. Participating in the Race for Survival with a team multiplies the fun, the laughter and maybe even the tears that you share on Race Day.
Multiply your impact - multiply your fun!
Rally around someone you know who was just diagnosed, someone who has fought the battle, or someone who may have lost the battle. Together, with your friends, family and co-workers, you make an even greater impact than you could alone.
Team "Trotzköpfe, Glückspilze, Family & Friends" 2014 with 85 participants, including 37 survivors
STEPS TO START OR JOIN A TEAM TODAY:
1. REGISTER A TEAM
Select a team captain. The team captain must register first and create the team by choosing a team name before members can join. During registration the team captain decides if she/he will pay for the entire team after the registration deadline in one lump sum by receiving an invoice, or team members will pay for themselves as they register and join the team. To be considered an official Team, you will need 10 or more registered members by team-registration deadline. All team captains are invited to our "Thank you" party.
2. RECRUITING A TEAM
Invite friends, family and co-workers to join your team. Email, Facebook or tweet everyone you know and invite them to register to Race with you. Display event materials - brochures and posters - around the office, campus, cafeterias, break-rooms, gym or other high traffic areas. Put your name and phone number, and/or email address on the posters so people can contact you and get involved.
You may download and print out the following documents:
The entry fee includes a white Race t-shirt. Survivors may ask for their shirts in pink. Everyone also gets a race bib and a free ticket for the raffle on Race day. Race packets will be pre-packed for the whole team and picked up by the Team captain. Shirts and race bibs can be picked up at the race location on race day after 11:00. Pre pick will be available (details follow). We strongly recommend pre pick up for team packets.
To have a tent or area designated for your team there will be a fee. If you are interested you may contact teams-koeln@aktionpink.de. This possibility depends on place and the availability and is reserved for large teams.
3. ON RACE DAY
Set up a meeting point with you team members (feel free to ask us for tips). Make sure team members will receive their individual Race packet on time to be ready for warm-up about 30 minutes before each race. Team members can split up into walkers and runners and still start as an official team. There will be snacks, water and refreshment drinks after the finish line. We will have a bake sale benefiting Aktion Pink e.V. again this year. Besides that, there will be food stands all over the Tanzbrunnen area. These are operated by RheinConnection GmbH therefore the choice of food is not subject to us and there will be no outside food and beverages allowed on the Tanzbrunnen property.
